Sadly, just today I learned from a family member of a long-time employee of Heavenly Days that the wonderful owner, Linda, sold the business to a larger pet crematorium that is based in WV. She had been in biz since the 1970's, I believe. At the old Rockville Pet Hotel. Before she moved the crematorium to Urbana. But she did not own the land, just the building. Evidently, this is one of a few companies that are buying up smaller crematoriums from the west coast to east coast. We first used Heavenly Days back in the early 1980's for our dogs, and then for my long line of ferrets over a 30-year period. Linda would furnish lovely hand-carved wooden boxes from Poland that you could choose. The would offer to keep the box unsealed if owners wanted to scatter ashes. Or, they would seal the box but all would be hand-tied with lace ribbon and a little faux rose in the middle. She would include a condolence card and she would make a donation to the local humane society. I had referred many a grieving pet owner to Heavenly Days and they did a wonderful job, so tasteful, kind and caring. They don't make 'em like that anymore. There was a sweet older lady named Janette who would answer the phone in a lilting grandmotherly voice. They provided services to famous people's pets too. I am so thankful for this gift to the community so that pet parents could take that last ride with their finned, furred, feathered and other beloved children with dignity, love and compassion.

This is the worst location for a sushi restaurant. The food was good but my experience was far from the best. There were kids on top us (riding the escalator) who spat on us down there when were having dinner with the family. I'm sure we were not the only ones who experienced because when we told the manager he just told us that this happens a lot because people were pranking the customers as they eat down the escalator. Wow! Not a very good customer relations officer as well. Eat sushi at your own risk, I would do a take out instead if you wanna try the food here.
